We woke up to a wonderful family getting ready for their daily life and it brought back memories of all the kids in our family scrambling around (but this family was more graceful) and getting ready for school/work in the morning.  Everyone was very perky with smiles on their faces.  We got everything ready to go, and after Molly (aka Amalia) was taken to school we headed out for breakfast at a local eatery.  Great conversation, great food, and a better understanding of each other, and we now feel we have friends in York.

We said our goodbyes and took off to our next destination… the Harley-Davidson Assembly Plant!  We took the free tour of their huge factory and also enjoyed admiring the new models for 2011.  Quite an awesome facility but sorry, we couldn’t take photos inside the factory:

After the factory, our next stop was Gettysburg!  It was only one hour away, but Jerry was having issues with his bike’s cruise control so we had to stop into a Harley-Davidson shop before arriving in Gettysburg.  An estimated 30 minutes wait turned into over 2 hours until we escaped with a problem-free Harley.  The other good thing that came out of this was this:

Eventually, in the heat of the day we escaped the shop and made it to the battlefield.  It was absolutely amazing.  We watched a movie about the battle then got sucked into a battle scene at the cyclotron (360 degree painting of the battle) … awesome!  I highly recommend it if you make to Gettysburg.  After, still blisteringly hot, we drove a bit and saw some cannons and open fields, then started heading south toward Maryland!

We landed in Reistertown, Maryland to see one of Greg’s favorite people… Patty!  Her and her roomies were making dinner as we arrived (perfect timing I’d say), and we enjoyed a delicious dinner while getting to know her roommates.  Everyone was really nice and we continue to be spoiled on this trip.  We are sure roughing it aren’t we?!

Tomorrow, we are on the road and heading WEST!!  We’ve been heading East for so long, it feels odd not facing the sun in the morning!

Lastly, Patty had four tiles that had phrases I liked… My 3 favorites are:

“Three grand essentials to Happiness in this life are something to do, something to love, and something to hope for” – Joseph Addison

“When you find Peace within yourself, you become the kind of person who can live at peace with others” – Peace Pilgrim Quote

“Kindness in words creates Confidence… Kindness in thinking creates profoundness… Kindness in giving creates love” – Someone I can’t remember.
