You know how wonderful it is not having to take down a tent in the morning?  Most days, we set up camp right before dark then pack it all back up right after first light.  Staying in Nashville for a day allowed us to actually make breakfast this morning with a hot cappuccino… doesn’t get much better than this.

After a lazy morning we headed to Nashville and decided we want to see what this city has to offer.  We heard about a big paddlewheel riverboat, the General Jackson , which was modeled after riverboat from 1817 and has live entertainment with a big delicious meal included.  We were down!

The afternoon’s entertainment was Tim Watson’s Fiddlin’ Around… and boy can this guy play his fiddle.  I don’t think you can do more with an instrument, the only thing he didn’t do is juggle but I’m sure he even has that in another act.  The band was great, singing was topnotch, jokes were funny, and the food was plentiful.

We sat by 6 other really friendly people and as it turned out, the young lady at our table, Morgan Taylor, is an aspiring singer herself.  And since her father is old high school friends with the entertainer he announced her upcoming gig in just a few hours at the Hard Rock Café and our ears perked up.  We had fun talking with them and mentioned that if we are still in the area we would stop by.

Sure enough, after a few hours of bar hopping to different musical venues, we decided to stop into the Hard Rock Café and say hello to our new friends.  They were all very excited for the performance and it was fun watching the family get as close as possible.  The proud parents snapped photos every few moments while Morgan continued to impress the crowd.  She did great.

After the performance, we took our bikes to the nearest supermarket… we were planning on using the last unused item in our arsenal of goodies… our barbecue!  We picked up some steak, beans, and grapes!  Check out the before and after pics:

Nashville was good to us and we hope to return in the future.  Randomness is around every corner on adventures like this, and we look forward for more!

And for some extra entertainment… check out these rockstars we found while walking back to our bikes:
